As most regular readers know, Veteran’s Day can be a tough day for me. This year is particularly challenging as I think about my brother who is currently deployed. I also got a great message from a family history site I used which notified me of my ancestor who fought in World War I. I imagine we all have connections to the military in some form or fashion.
It’s a sobering thought to think of all the sacrifices our military make for us. In this crazy, divided world, there’s still a common love and appreciation for the sacrifices the military makes for us.
At a number of the healthcare IT conferences I’ve gone to, they’ve had military veteran’s stand up to be appreciated by those in the audience. It’s always amazing to see how many veterans are now working in healthcare. Their expertise and influence is spread throughout all of our lives well after they’ve left the military. That’s particularly true in healthcare which has plenty of veterans.
As I pause for a moment this day, I have amazing gratitude for our Veterans.
